President Anthony Blair

It has been called the speech of 2008 - and it's only January. But here on YouTube is William Hague at the Lisbon Treaty debate last Monday, striking fear into the heart of the Brownites, about what it will be like to greet President Blair as he rolls up to 10 Downing in his motorcade.

  2. Quite.

Sadly, the United Kingdom deserves better than professional joke tellers running the country. As we are currently finding with Gordon Brown's Labour.

When I watched this film I was reminded of Tony Blair's accurate description of William Hague back in 2001.

    "Great jokes but no policies."

Now, do tell, will The Conservative Party be holding a referendum on the EU Reform Treaty if they win the next General Election? Last week they wouldn't commit.

  4. Hague’s abilities as a House of Commons performer are in no doubt. However, he is burdened by the same affliction of many senior Tories: an incoherent position on the EU.

Quite rightly, he condemns the Lisbon Treaty, but as he admits in the video below, he would drop all objections to it post ratification, by virtue of his continued support for our EU membership.

William Hague: We must be in EU

Now, when are we going to get some sense from the man?
