I hate to say it, but what happened north of the Tweed yesterday was symbolically huge. Lord Tweedsmuir may be spinning in his grave, but I think Scot Tories have a bright future ahead of them if the unthinkable happens. The epic struggle will not be Unionists versus Independentists, but Nationalists versus Loyalists. I just can't see how Scotland will ever become a republic.
