Their words stand condemned

During a recent debate with republicans, Australians loyal to the Crown were confronted by the most appalling personal abuse to our Sovereign and her family. This was followed by spiteful attacks on anyone who posted pro-monarchy remarks.

It was frightening indeed to think what the republicans posted was put forward as argument for change. Their words stand condemned for their vile nature, disregard for the rule of law, our nation and its heritage, not to mention the idea that constitutional law can just be thrown away with no regard for the future of people who will come after us. A very sad example of a deep ignorance, that is prevailing through much of Australia.

Please note that an earlier post I made regarding this had some quotes from some of the republicans. This was removed by the administrator of this website and maybe they were right to do so, for they were rude in the extreme. My only reason for originally including them was to give monarchist in other realms an idea of what we in Australia have had to put up with.

The 'ugliness' of republican argument (as this case shows) is symptomatic of the spiritual condition that underlies this belief system and is reminiscent of the saying by Anatole France that “for every monarchy overthrown the sky becomes less brilliant, because it loses a star. A republic is ugliness set free.”
