Here Mandela is again in his trademark silk gown, marking his 90th birthday in the presence of Her Majesty. The Queen received Nelson Mandela and his wife Graca Machel at Buckingham Palace, 25 June 2008. The former President of South Africa was in London to attend a concert to mark his milestone birthday and to raise funds for his AIDS charities.

As the Duke of Edinburgh might say to Mandela, in his more spontaneous moments: "You look ready for bed"!
I don't see the point of this post and its implied criticism.
The one political thing I will admit to being wrong about was my opinion of Mr. Mandela in the early to mid 1980's. I considered him a dangerous communist thug and am now ashamed to admit that this was the case. It turns out he was a bigger man than the Nazis who ran the Apartheid Machine.
He has earned the esteem of the world and, he has rightfully earned it.
