He doesn't want to piss off Quebec. That's the essence of his electoral strategy.
He IS a republican, who only mouths such words to assuage the remnants of the Tory base within that sad party.

He is a republican, small r, but even worse, seems to hold the American Republican Party in high esteem. What a tit.
The problems we have with the "republic at any cost brigade" in Australia is far, far worse. I have heard even otherwise intelligent Australians say "I don't care what type of republic we get just as long as we get a republic" what is the mentality behind it all...?
